Over the past ten years, Venturer has grown from a specialist timber work company with an established background in practical timber design and build solutions, to multidisciplinary timber based organisation which encompasses responsible timber procurement, through to innovative production methods with full design capability. Venturer has sustained steady growth through interlinked partnerships and subsidiary companies.
Our knowledge extends beyond physical properties of timber and innovative design and production, and includes sourcing of reclaimed, and plantation grown material. Furthermore we are instrumental in promoting Certisource and Double Helix Tracking Technologies (DHTT) timber, to many clients who were previously unaware that these supply options existed. Our business philosophy is heavily influenced by our passion for timber and the intimate knowledge we have cultured over the past decade.

Double Helix Tracking Technologies develops affordable, DNA-based solutions to verify the origin of timber and wood products. DHTT is headquartered in Singapore, at the centre of the world’s most threatened tropical forests.
Singapore is also a leading scientific research centre and the ideal location to develop DNA-based timber verification technologies.
Work first started in 2005 – to establish scientific methods to track timber through complex supply chains. In 2006, scientists at the National University of Singapore joined us to develop DNA-based timber tracking systems.
To date we have focused on the verification of merbau timber, a high-value species subject to extensive illegal-logging across its natural range. As we establish scientific techniques based on merbau, we will then apply this knowledge to other threatened, high-risk species in Asia, Africa, Russia and Latin America.
Certisource Organisation UK Ltd (Certisource UK) operates as a non-commercial administration centre for global timber verification services provided by Certisource Regional Offices.
In Summary, the primary aim of Certisource is to reduce the traffic in stolen logs. The use of DNA based Chain of Custody verification systems enables legal and illegal timber to be differentiated within the market place by following procedures and standards recommended by the World Wildlife Fund for Nature’s Global Forest & Trade Network (GFTN) in its documents ‘Keep it Legal’ and ‘Responsible Purchasing of Forest Products’ (2nd edition).
Hillconsulting is a specialised design and consulting entity whose primary activities are related to Timber structure design, and detailing and specification.
Projects include curved laminated hardwood structures, natural shingle roof , modular deck design, composite structure design, and a variety and modular building approaches to resort and floating structures.
Projects are located in Singapore , India, UAE and the Maldives. Some ket examples include: the Southern Islands Ferry Terminal curved timber structure, Marina Bay Sands convex modular decking to the skypark,both in Singapore. Prefabricated timber guest room structures at Shangri La’s Vilingilli resort, Maldives , and Nautique personalised water suites.
